Permanent Conference of National Socialist Memorial Sites in the Berlin Area
The Permanent Conference of National Socialist Memorial Sites in the Berlin Area has been held since December 15, 2009 and is financed by the German Federal Commission for Culture and Media Affairs (BKM). The meetings of directors take place regularly and aim to intensify the collaboration between the national socialist memorial sites, to improve public relations and to carry out projects together. In addition to the directors’ gathering, there are also meetings for particular disciplinary focuses.
A total of five institutions are members of the Permanent Conference. The chair rotates on a yearly basis between the directors:
There is also the Working Committee I (Arbeitskreis I) with whom the members of the Permanent Conference closely work. Alongside the institutions which are members of the Permanent Conference, members of more, mostly smaller memorial sites, documentation centres and museums as well as initiatives and associations also participate.
